The Superleague may be on its Summer break but the UCD AFC Crossbar Challenge is alive and well and made history in the recent UCD v Sligo Rovers game.

The Superleague League Cup Final was won by the Ex Offenders after a thrilling match in Belfield. Posh Town raced into a 2-0 lead with some stunning footwork in the box leading to the first goal. Anything can happen in Superleague and shortly after half time The Ex Offenders were back in it after a superb finish from their Number Nine. The competitive nature of the game got out of control when Posh Town's centre mid was sent off for a wild swing after a lunging tackle from his opposite number. Posh Town tried to hang on with ten men and nearly made it but The Ex Offenders dragged the game into Extra Time with a late equaliser. The fading light made conditions difficult and penalties were always highly likely. Penalties were needed to settle it and The Ex Offenders completed the double when their keeper made his second save in the shootout.

The annual Superleague Awards Night will be held in the Centre Club on Thursday the 29th of April at 8 o'clock. There will be free beer for all Superleague players
