A quick corner resulted in UCD getting their first goal and the second came from a James Kavanagh strike from long distance. UCD matched their opponents for long periods of the game but they were eventually undone as UCD keeper Gary Wilde looked to start and attack his throw was blocked and the referee allowed the resulting goal.
Shamrock Rovers are up next for UCD's youngsters as they look to bounce back from a defeat that was hard to take.
